Earth Girl Rx Blog
Earth Girl Rx
Earth Girl Rx was a blog I created back in 2015, while Don and I were still following a vegan macrobiotic diet. I have hardly looked at it in years, nearly forgetting it was still hanging out in the blog-o-spheres.
I recently logged in because I was unwittingly still getting charged for a security add-on app for another blog that I nearly forgot I ever started! Emulating Aine. It, too, is still available, however, I may copy the articles, and delete the handful of posts on that blog.
As I read posts from both, a sadness washes over me.
I had such greater clarity and creative inspiration when we were vegan the first go around. It's so very evident, to me, as I recapture what remains of all I previously created, before foolishly trashing it all when we gave up our vegan ways, and entered the low-carb daze. Those were the years that the lights went out. Metaphorically, and spiritually and energetically speaking ~ in the very least.
As I pondered what to do with that blog, I decided to at least bring it out of hiding, and link it here.
My original very popular Eight Treasures Congee that I also had on my now defunct previous websites was also on this blog. I figured it was worth linking to this blog for that reason alone. Although, there's many insightful, inspired articles which deserve their due respect, by bringing them back to life.
I may have more to write about this, however, for now, here's the description of Earth Girl Rx, from the blog itself:
The EG Rx, or Earth Girl Prescription(s) are like the moral to a story, or the gems of wisdom garnered from a challenging experience. They are also tips to help us feel more centered, grounded, present and content with our lives, and improve our health. I add these to the end of many of my posts.
The Earth Girl Rx blog inspires a revival of simplicity. I would love to see a true renaissance in eating and living more naturally and reverently for the betterment of our personal and collective existence.
I share how to eat a macrobiotic diet that is so basic ~or as my website says ~ “food so simple, your ancestors could eat it!” The simpler, the more sustainable, plain and, well simple!
The macrobiotic diet focuses on eating a diet that is in resonance with who you are as an individual ~ your particular constitution, current condition, the region you live, and the season. Food choices and cooking styles are adapted based on macrobiotic principles. These principles are distilled to the essentials in our various e-books and paperbacks, all available on our Basic Macrobiotics website.
(NOTES: Basic Macrobiotics is no longer active. Also note that as of 2024, several links on that blog are now defunct ~ until and unless I get the opportunity to edit the blog.)
As a side note, I just discovered that one of our earlier websites, Plant Based Solution, is now available as a URL ~ for just under $2200!
We had a great thing going, and we gave it all away because of our incredibly foolish change of mind, and hardening of our hearts. Hence, why Returning Home to Our Hearts was profoundly bitter sweet. Bitter reflecting on our previous five years eating animals again, sweet to have once again, restored harmony with our hearts.
